About the Interview

Our journey with the Embracing Mental Health as a Fandom series of events continues, this time into a whole new fandom. We were joined by Star Trek's Stephanie Czajkowski, who played Vulcan Science Officer Lt. T'Veen in Star Trek: Picard Season 3.

During this hour-long interview, Stephanie opened up about her career, three cancer diagnoses, and grief. Hosts Welles and Lawrence explored with Stephanie the concept of one linear path to success and how that's almost never true. The trio discussed how marginalized communities need to lift each other up instead of fighting over few pieces of the pie. Stephanie also showed vulnerability in talking about the grief over her mother's death and the idea that grief has no set timeline.

Oh, and stay til the end to hear her answer the ever-important question here at The Companion: flight or invisibility?

"Social Hour" Community Discussion
After the event, we hosted a 2-Hour Companion discussion, continuing the conversation from the livestream.

💡
The Companion mission is to support 1 million fans by embracing mental health, elevating diverse voices, and uplifting each other other. If you'd like to support us, for less than a Starbucks coffee per month, join us as a paid member by clicking here. You will get access to all of our events and be the first to know about Amanda Tapping's Embracing Mental Health as a Fandom: The Book!

Finally, thank you to all of our paid members. Together, we have been able to fundraise over $30,000 for mental health, feed the hungry, and help disabled children play video games. We literally could not have done that without you.

Since we started this series we've been overwhelmed with the incredible response from our community. Whether it's in our social hour hang outs, or in our discord, seeing people share stories, help each other and grow together has been so inspiring. It's one of the many reasons we're creating a book with Amanda Tapping.

Although it's rare, dates and times with our guests may change due to conflicts. Thank you in advance for understanding. Check out our entire Summer Slate here.
