If you like Stranger Things, Midnight Club, and Paper Girls, Kids on Bikes is the ideal rules-lite system for replicating those retro thrills and chills on your tabletop. The original game was released in 2018 to critical acclaim and the 2nd edition has already hurtled past its funding goal of $20,000 in under an hour – it's currently sitting on over $90,000.
The 2nd edition promises refined Powered character rules, scalable stakes for violence, and expanded gamemaster and collaborative storytelling tools. Powered characters are collaboratively controlled members of the party who take on an Eleven/Sloth from The Goonies (1985)/Mac from Mac and Me (1988) type role.
At the time of writing, there are 23 days left to go and still plenty of stretch goals to be unlocked.
